CoS Reason & Salary

Post by thebestman » Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:51 pm

When we issued CoS in 2014 and now it is the time for our employee to review his Visa. Since our CoS is expired in Sept 2015 we have to apply for a renewal.

I have two questions:

1) Is the below para good enough to renew our Certificate of Sponsorship?

We would like to renew our Certificate of Sponsorship for <Name > to extend their leave in the UK.

<> is working with us on Tier 2 Visa for last 3 years which is due for extension in Jan 2018. <> joined as a intern in 2013 and now he is working as a Senior Software Engineer. <> is now working at our R&D division which is developing the next generation of intelligence and language understanding for our company.

<> is a cloud based marketing automation platform. Being recognised as one of the top innovative companies in the retail sector we been awarded a <> grant from UK's public sector body, the Innovate UK as part of a consortium including UCL and Cambridge University.

<> is doing this R&D which is part of a three year project that involves use of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to enhance our current offerings. In UK, however, the availability of candidates with experience in above areas is limited and small firms like ours find it difficult to hire more expensive resources.

2) what should be the offered salary for this candidate?

The salary requirement was £20,800. But, now I have read somewhere that it should be £35,000, is that correct? Or we can simply offer couple thousand more salary above £20,800?

The salary is dependent on the SOC and the age of the visa holder.

£35k is ONLY for ILR.

Thanks Dan883!

Thanks all for the response.

One more question -

The CoS renewal form says - If you wish to renew a Tier 2 or Tier 5 category, please provide as much relevant detail as possible with your request, including why skilled migrants are required, attempts to recruit from he resident labour market, the job roles, SoC codes and salaries and details of any migrants you have identified for the jobs.

Do we need to mention about the labour market test details, SoC codes and salaries etc for renewing the visa for an existing employee?
