My wife is from the Philippines. She is currently working here in the UK on a work visa. At the beginning of the year she applied to the Department of Immigration to update her surname to her married name. Due to misinformation (on their end) the Department of Immigration asked her to redo her application. She redid the application and sent it off. She was told that her new work visa could take up to 8 weeks to arrive. We have now been waiting for 7 weeks for her work visa to arrive and we are flying out to the Philippines at the end of the week.
My question is, if her work visa does not arrive before we fly, is she alright to use her old work visa? She has her old passport with her maiden name and a copy of our marriage certificate.
