Switch from tier 2 dependent to tier 2 general visa

Post by SunnyShetty » Thu Apr 04, 2019 12:59 am

Hello,

I'm currently in UK on an ICT Tier 2 Dependent Visa which Is valid until July.
I have been working for an IT company for the last 2 months on the dependent visa and the company is the list of organisations licensed to sponsor workers.

Could you please resolve by below queries
A. Can I ask my company to provide me COS for a general tier 2 visa?
B. Is there a minimum salary limit to apply for tier 2 general visa?
C. In case they do not provide, is there any other option to do it through external companies/agencies?
D. And if they do, I believe I would need to go back to India to apply and how long would the procedure take?

Please do let me know asap.

Thanks in Advance,
Sunny

A - yes they could but they have to complete a RLMT which is difficult as you are already working for them and that points to pre-selection. So if they have any sense they won’t put their licence at risk.

B - yes there is. It is based on your job role / SOC

C - that is not an option and is illegal to begin with.

D - yes you will have to return home to apply for your visa
