Request From Home Office Criminal Record Check

Post by JJG » Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:26 am

Dear all,

I am hoping someone can help with this. I applied for my Tier 2 visa (leaving the tier 5 visa) application in Toronto and completed my biometrics on the 29th May. I received an email from VISAINFO.SHEFO@fco.goc.uk on the 12th of June requesting for a criminal record check due to my COS code assigned to me by my sponsor and to submit within 28 days.

I have submitted my criminal record check on the 11th July, and it took this long due to the processing times in Canada.

Does anyone know, when you typically would hear a response from home office once additional documents are submitted? And how long it would take to process my visa, receive my passport, etc...?

I was meant to start my job in the UK by the 1st of July and I have informed my employers of this situation, which doesn’t seem to be a problem at the moment. I would love to start my job as soon as possible and hope to hear back from home office to organise travel plans.

This has been such a stressful experience, and any feedback would be very helpful and give me peace of mind.

Thanks all in advance.

I have called VSF global, and they have mentioned it will take 5-7 days for a response.
