Urgent query

I'm currently on a tier 2 visa that is valid till October 2020. I was offered another job for which I need to switch my sponsor for the tier 2 visa. The new job will be for 3 years. My questions are:

1- During the process of the new tier 2 visa application, am I allowed to travel outside the uk for 3 weeks and come back?

2- As I paid the IHS till October 2020, will the overlapped period be refunded to me?

3- My wife's visa as a dependant is valid till October 2020, does this need to be changed or she can stay on her visa till that date then apply for new one?

1. No. Travelling out will likely mean the application is withdrawn.

2. No.

3. No need to apply when you do. She can apply for an extension shortly before her visa expires.

Just one final advice

When is the best time to submit my application? i.e. if my new job starts on 1st of March...if I’m using the usual non priority service

Whenever you are ready and have a UCoS. You cannot work for your new sponsor until you have your new visa.
