Part time on Tier2

Post by jai23155 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 12:54 pm

I am an employer and about to issue the CoS. Can I issue the CoS on the basis of 25hours per week and prorated salary? It is SOC 2139 and experienced worker salary requirement is £31,100. The role (Cybersecurity Specialist) is on shortage occupation list. We are paying the employee £33,000 but prorated. That means he will receive £21,153.00. Would that be ok? Cheers

A tier 2 sponsored migrant must work a minimum of 30 hours per week. They cannot work part time (less than 30 hours per week).

Page 33 of the guidance notes states this very clearly.

100. Your contracted working hours must be at least 30 hours a week.

Thank you. We have now issued the CoS for 37.5 hours.
