Tier 4 switching to tier 2 visa

Hello, am on a tier 4 visa. I got a tier 2 sponsorship recently ,and my visa hasn’t expired yet.Still not done with school but will be submitting my project by January.
I what to known please can I go on with the application can the COS will be expiring by October, I want to be sure if it’ll not affect me in anyway.
