UKVCAS Biometrics Appointment Booking Help

I recently applied for the Skilled Worker visa (in-country) for change of employment (switching) using a priority service. I performed the following activities during the application submission process:

• Paid the IHS surcharge

• Paid the visa fee

• Submitted the application

• Uploaded evidence

However, at no stage I was asked to enrol for the biometrics appointment. Please can someone confirm if a biometric appointment is required, in which case please could you guide me how to enrol for it.

If the biometrics are required, please can I check if I can do biometrics on the app. I know the Home Office started an app based biometric process in 2020 due to Covid. Is this still going on? Can someone let me know regarding this as well please.
