Hi , Me and and my wife is holding separate skill worker visa .My visa was valid till may 2025 which got extended till 2027 and my wife visa is valid till Feb'2026. My minor son's dependent visa was applied with my spouse but now we have noticed that his visa expiry date not in sync with my wife and showing my visa expiry date may 2025 . It means my son is overstating since 2025. What should I do now.. should I contact UK immigration directly or go through immigration lawyer . Please help if anyone have seen or gone through similar case and how should I proceed. @zimba

I extended my visa on due date in May 2025. We noticed this issue when we were planning to go out of UK and try togenerated e-visa code for my son. There it show that his visa has been expired in May 2025

.Earlier BRP card use to have exact expiry date but due to evisa, all brp have by default expiring date of 31st Dec 2024.This causes confusion. I am clueless on how to proceed on this. Any help will be very useful. @Zimba

What I am asking is that if the child visa was extended alongside your wife till Feb 2026, then both should have the same expiry. If they do not, then that is an error on the eVisa

It is not an error. A child dependent visa is always issued with an expiry date of the parent whose visa expires the soonest, in this case the OP who holds their own skilled worker visa. This is clearly stated in the rules.

oh yes. I think I got confused because he said his visa was valid until 2027.

@Zimba @CR01 thank you for your reply . Does the this rule implemented recently? Because one of my friend has similar case but his dependent son got visa as per his mother expiry date when they mom and son applied for visa though father's visa expiring 5 month earlier .
Any advise on how should i approach this case. Thank you.

This is not a new rule. You need to apply for a new visa for the child
