which route? Tier 1, or sponsored Tier 2?

Post by lionfly » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:03 pm

Which route can you start working for new company quicker, Tier 1 or sponsored Tier 2?

Is sponsored Tier 2 a stronger case and quicker to get approved, or Tier 1 stronger and quicker?

How long does a reputable company need to get a license?

Then how long they need to get a certificate of sponsorship?

Also the Home Office guidance effective after 31/03 need non-EU to get Leave-to-remain (Home Office service standard is within 6 weeks), before they start working. Before 31/03, the start date need only to be after the certificate of sponsorship, before the leave-to-remain.

From the timeline information on this site, it looks like normally Tier 1 can be approved within 6 weeks as well, if documents are all correct. Is it right?

If the company you are looking to work for does not have the Sponsor License already then Tier 1 would probably a quicker option.
