Tier 5 visa extension

Post by cass_89 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 4:38 pm

Hi There,

I am currently on a Tier 5 visa ending August 2016. I moved from New Zealand to UK with my Boyfriend of 6 years who has an Irish passport. I am struggling to find information on extending my visa to stay in the UK with my partner. I am guessing the de facto visa is only available to partners of British passport holders and while it looks like I am able to obtain a residency permit for Ireland I am unsure if that will allow me to work and live in the UK.

If anybody is in a similar situation or has any helpful advice I would greatly appreciate it.

This is the link to the information you need regarding an application as an extended family member - durable relationship. See point 7
This is assuming your partner is 'exercising his Treaty rights' in the UK through employment or study.
