Can I go on long term internship abroad?

Post by samchinaboss » Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:36 am

Hello

I am studying a two years master course in London. I have been offered an internship(related to my study, acknowledged by the univeristy) in Germany.

My course encourages student to go on summer internship for 2-3 month. However the German company offered me a 6 month internship, and they would not agree to reduce the duration of the internship. Which means in will run into my second year term time.

Now I have discussed this with the university and they approved me to go on to the internship. My concern is, am I allowed to spend that much time in Germany holding a student visa here in the UK? I do intend to come back every other weekend, to make my absense from the uk less continuous.

I tried but couldn't find any info regarding to this on the UKBA website, nor any similar discussions on the net.

Can someone help me?

Thanks
