Student Visa Cap and new application for tier 4

Post by OSHAYE3 » Sat Aug 03, 2013 6:55 pm

Guys,

At the moment am on PSW that will expire on December 12th, 2013.

I will be 10yrs in early September 2014 .

I came in October 2004 and started :

Oct 2004 course on MCSE Microsoft Certification for 1 yr
Sept 2005 course on computing (Access to computing) :1yr
Sep 2006 course on MCSE Microsoft Certification 1yr
Sep 2007 -July 2011......... Degree in Elec Engineering 4yrs
PSW will expire in December.

Question:

1. Can I apply for a master course or I have exceeded the limit based on the new rules on Tier 4 visa?

2. If possible, if the course will start in late January 2014, Can I apply for tier 4 inside the UK?

3 Any other alternative?

4. I am with a company that can sponsor me till June 2014 on contract. Is it possible to get tier 2 general on contract. I am planning to approach them soon.

Thank you all for your advice.

Option # 4 should be adopted because degree cap will prevent you to join Master.

Thank you Sheraz7. So much appreciated.

The reason I asked is because I want to make my option open. But is good to know, I have to defer my admission to do Master now till next year September 2014.

Sorry Sheraz7,

The MCSE is certification, not master course because you said another master. I have not completed master in UK at the moment.

Thanks,

You have exceeded 8 years cap so you can't go for student extension

Be educated about degree cap which did not exist in old golden days but now it prevents a student to study excessive. See below:

But I am still 7 years as a student. Degree is 3yrs foundation level 1yr diploma level 2yrs...................

Even though I have not enrolled for master course, I have to jump to PHD. which in this case is 3yrs not possible because of 8yrs cap.

Thanks for your explanation.
