Simple yes/no question on application form proving difficult

Post by timrichards » Tue Apr 26, 2011 2:02 am

Hi there

A question on my visa application asks have you ever been refused a visa for the UK?

2 years ago I had my initial visa application refused but I appealed and it was overturned and subsequently I was granted the visa I had initially applied for.

Does this mean I should answer yes or no to the original question above?

Thanks :D

You should say YES, since it was refused and later decision over turned. Also provide your determination along with your application if you have it. In the Addionatl Information Section, you can tell them that you appealed and won it and the visa was issued

cheers terrible scream, although the only thing is that when you apply online as i am doing, it does not offer the possibility to provide additional explanation to any of your answers, its very black and white, yes and no answers.

i was originally thinking to put NO, simply because the initial visa i was applying for was over turned in the end so i was still given the visa i wanted and allowed entry.

if i put yes, i have no section to add the vital information that i appealed and won.....that is my problem with this darn online process...

thanks so much for your help, i really appreciate it. if anyone else has their 5cents worth of information id love to hear it as well

:D :D :D

there is usuallly a section for additional info at the end of the online form.

Where are you applying from - inside or outside the UK?

Right at the end for my Tier 1 application there was a section for additional information. Alternatively, you can also include this as a supporting document.

Your welcome timrichards, there usually is a section dont know why dont you have it, even online at the end of the process. Hope you find it, or else you can include everything on a letter when supporting documents are sent. If you have a copy of determination that will explain everything to em
