Query about Council tax discount

Post by sameer_77 » Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:59 pm

Me and my wife has ILR. My wife is now full time student and we will be applying for council tax discount.

Can any one tell us if this will have any affect on British Citizenship application.

Also I will be applying for visit visa for my mother, so will there be any impact on that application.

Thanks

It's fine for you to apply for benefits now that you have ILR. Having said that, CT discount (or exemptions) is not a public fund in any case.

However, CT is based on two adults living in a home. Your wife, being a full time student, will not be counted as an adult, but you may be if you are in an eligible category yourself. If so, the discount will be 25%
