Re-register a child as a British Citizen?

Post by Tier 4 » Sat Mar 02, 2013 10:37 pm

Is it possible to register a child as a British Citizen once his parent gets ILR?

I am applying ILR next year and have baby born this week which got to be register with a local council in 3 weeks time. In case if I get my ILR will I need to re-register my baby as a British Citizen?

However just wondering do i need to register him again as BC once i get my ILR sorted? Its sounds awkward as now i have just 3 weeks to register him in Council and my IRL is far away. Thanks

With council you are registering his birth for the issuance of his birth certificate. Once you get your ilr you register with home office for his citizenship.the two are different.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.
