ILR for Child

Post by redbull110 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 5:15 pm

Dear Senior Members and Moderators,

I have a very simple question which is as follows:

"When my child was born here in the UK last year, I was on Tier-1 General visa and my wife was on PSW visa.

Then my wife went back home along with my child to convert her PSW visa into Tier-1 Dependant visa and applied in November last year. Both my wife and my child got their Tier-1 Dependant in January this year and they joined me last month in February.

Question is that when I will get my ILR hopefully in the month of July this year, will I be able to register my child as British Citizen or not? OR I have to wait until I get my Naturalisation sorted and then only I can register my child as British Citizen? "

Your answers will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks.

Thanks Vinny for the quick reply. Much appreciated.

So it will not matter if I register my child as British Citizen though I will be the only one who will get ILR as my wife just recently got dependant visa and I think she will have to be here for 5 years before she gets her settlement?

Correct me if I am wrong.

Once again thanks for your reply.

Thanks Vinny.

Much Appreciated.

w.r.t my wife, after I get my ILR,(obviously by that time she would have only gone past 7 month on Tier-1 Dependant visa), is she going to fill the FLR-M form to renew her stay or the Tier-1 Dependant form which is for Inside the UK applications ?

Any input on this will also be much appreciated.

Thanks.
