When to apply for Naturalisation?

I am asking on behalf of a friend of mine.

She has originally made her application for asylum in the UK and was granted humanitarian protection in June 2008. She will apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain by the end of this month. Her question is how soon can she apply for naturalisation as a UK Citizen?

Her husband got British Citizenship in 2011.

She has passed the Life In The UK test.

Can she apply for British Citizen as soon as she is granted ILR or she has to wait for another 12 months?

Yes she lived in UK since June 2008, is there any requirements for her husband? He got British passport 2 years ago.

Yes she lived in UK since June 2008, is there any requirements for her husband? He got British passport 2 years ago.

Providing the residency in the UK was legal for the 3 year period that is all that is required (with regards to residency). Leave to remain under Humanitarian Protection is legal residency. As long as her spouse is British then it does not matter when he was naturalised.

Providing the residency in the UK was legal for the 3 year period that is all that is required (with regards to residency). Leave to remain under Humanitarian Protection is legal residency. As long as her spouse is British then it does not matter when he was naturalised.

There are some exceptions for Legacy cases (these took a long time) but in this instance as the applicant is the spouse of a British Citizen then do not have to wait 12 months after ILR to apply.
