Birth registration and Citizenship

Post by neo.kap » Wed May 21, 2014 12:10 pm

I and my wife both are on ILR and we had a baby after we got ILR. baby is Britsh by birth but as of now we have not planned to take British passport for us and baby. I am thinking following options and have few queries. Can someone please help to get answers.

1. Register Birth at both local council and at Indian High Commision and get birth certificates and do not apply for any passort now.
Is there any prob if I registered birth at Indian High commision and do not apply for indian passport but later go for British Passsport?
Do I need to tell Indian High commision when applying for British Passport as we wont be having baby's indian passport to surrender?

2. Registering Birth at Indian High commision and applying for Indian passport.
What travel document I need to get from UKBA to make baby's travel trouble free? (any UK visa or Right to abode certificate)
If I go for this option then can I apply for baby's British passport in future?
