EEA Student evidence of funds while living with parents

Post by RedPineapple » Tue Dec 02, 2014 4:57 am

I have a question regarding proof of funds as a student who is an EEA national.

Arrived in the UK in Aug 2008.
Started full time course in September 2008
Obtained registration certificate(yellow card) in September 2009.
Started working part time in October 2009.
Obtained another registration certificate(blue card) in March 2011.
Finished studying in June 2011.
Continued working part time to present.
Started full time employment in July 2011 to present.

For the period when I worked I have payslips and P60 forms.

Between 2008 and 2013 I have lived with my parents who are british citizens. They have their own house and have also paid my tuition fees and also supported me during my studies with accommodation, food, books, travel, clothes, etc.

On the application for naturalisation and also on the one for permanent residence there is a requirement for students to provide CSI and also evidence that they had enough funds to support themselves while studying, in order to exercise the EU treaty right.

After reading the relevant information in Nationality Instructions, volume 1 and 2 and also the European Casework Instructions, I think that writing a declaration which says that I had enough resources during my time as a student is sufficient. I found in numerous places in the official documentation that this is a choice between bank statements or a grant/scholarship.

I do not have a bank statement showing a lot of money(never had more than £100-200 in my account during that period) in my account because my parents always paid for everything that I needed. I also did not have a grant/scholarship.

Would this declaration be sufficient or do I have do enclose other documentation?
