British passport for child

Post by dikey2809 » Sat May 23, 2015 6:55 am

Dear Mentor,
Please assist me with applying for my childs British passport application. Currently I am a British citizen and my wife is holding ILR. Our daughter born last week. Following are questions.
1. Can I apply for my daughter's British Passport directly without naturalisation.
If yes, what documents needs to be submitted.

Thanks.

She is automatically British by born in UK to a British father or a settled parents. You need to send her birth certificate, your passport, probably marriage certificate as well. May be a proof of address is a good idea. They don't expect too much from a baby I guess so.

Page 12 and 13 of the passport guidance notes lists what you need to send.

You don't need to send proof of address documents.
