Outstanding Tax amount to HMRC

Post by techguy007 » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:53 pm

Dear all,

I have a £350+ tax outstanding amount for the year 2014/2015 to be paid to HMRC. Since May 2015 they have changed my tax code to recover the amount. But i contacted them and asked them to send me the final amount so i can pay them and settle the bill.

1) Once this amount has been paid HMRC confirmed that I no longer have any debts to HMRC. Does that mean i do not need to worry if HO check for my uk employment for any tax issues.

2) I have been working in uk for 8+ years and this £350 invoice was the only invoice i have ever received.
I'm 100% sure that since 2012 my address details have been updated with HMRC but little bit skeptical about earlier year addresses.
But do you think HMRC could detect any problems with my tax if any exists even my address details are incorrect. They can check all the info through my NI number isn't it?

Thank you very much
