Entering UK as a visitor and then applying for a Passport

Post by popcornadvisor » Fri Jan 15, 2016 1:48 pm

Hello,

Does anyone know if my newborn (who currently only has an Australian passport) can enter the U.K. as a visitor and then apply for a British Passport whilst in the U.K? Will they let her in? She is entitled to a passport because her mother (my wife) is a British Citizen and was Naturalised years ago (before my daughter was born).

thank you

CR001, Does this mean that a child born outside UK from a non-EU country can come to UK as #visitor# and then apply for naturalisation if either of parents have British nationality?

Have you got any links please?

The poster is asking about a passport application, not registration as British. Australians do not need a pre approved visitor visa and the OPs child is British already.

thanks CR001, i think OP mentioned that his new born has australian passport and wish to apply for british passport while arriving here on visitor visa. (I understand OP kid is entitled to british passport due to her mother nationality)
