Child of British Dad born in Pakistan

Post by london143 » Mon Aug 01, 2016 3:09 pm

Hello Everyone,

I will appreciate your advice on this matter. Due to my wifes health she went to Pakistan to have the baby, I hold a British Passport and my wife has a spouse visa. Will it be possible to apply for my childs British passport in Pakistan or I have to apply for a different visa to bring my child in the UK.

Thank you.

Child is British by Descent. You can apply directly for a passport. Be aware that passport applications from abroad can take 6-12 months.

YOU are British and assuming you are British through naturalisation, that would make you British otherwise than by descent, you can pass your citizenship on.
