Hi!
I´m new to the forum and are looking in to a lot of areas regarding application for BC.

One question I haven´t found any answer to among al the threads I´ve been reading is:

How does HO do when they check your abscens from the UK?
Do they simply run your passport number in a database and then are able to see where and then you´ve crossed the boarder?
Or do they run other checks?

We don't know what and how UKVI check the absence dates. I guess it's however a useful tool to validate the absence limits and cross-validate that you were present in the country five years ago on the date of application, that your absences tie in with your employment record/HMRC, etc. I';d be amazed if they had available all your travel dates, even if you use the e-gates.

for non eu they use to stamp passport which they stopped and now they stamp passport electronically which means they save data on computer. but for eu citizens the only way is HMRC.

You were given incorrect information regarding EU passport holders!!! It is not HMRC because HMRC often has no way of knowing how many days you have spent outside the UK. How would they know that you haven't been outside the country for more than 90 days within the year prior to application?

as an EU citizen, I proved my residency while employed by getting employment letters stating my paid and unpaid leave (the latter being 0) and confirming dates of employment and that it was a full time job. Also included P60s and P45s

When I was out of employment, I proved my residency by sending through a lot of official correspondence, I happen to submit a yearly tax self assessment so have plenty of letters from HMRC to my home address. Also council tax bills, bank statements, NI statement regarding paid contributions, utility bills, etc.

The more supporting documents you have with your application (and ideally a cover letter), the faster they make the decision for you. Mine took just over 2 months.

There is nothing wrong what i said and you said the same, P45 and P60s are issued by HMRC, if you are working and paying taxes and NI, then this is recorded in P45/P60 which are issued by HMRC, So if you are not able to get P45s etc you can call HMRC and ask them to give you last 5 years of tax record and they will send you via post.
