Query regarding new service

Post by quadwiz » Sun Nov 18, 2018 7:45 pm

I'm planning to apply for my citizenship in early December. After doing a bit of research online and on these boards, it seems that the NCRS service will no longer be available from 30th Nov (link).

I'm keen to apply for my passport at the same time as citizenship, is anyone aware if the new service offers this too? Or would it be beneficial for me to try to get an NCRS + JCAP application in before the 30th?

Thanks!

There appears to be no JCAP service. I have just applied using the new service and there was no option to submit a joint passport application. So that's the bad thing about the new service.

However, there are aspects of the new service that are quite convenient and seamless for e.g. easy appointment availability, ability to self-upload scanned documents, biometrics on the same day as document verification etc.

Ok thanks for getting back I'll keep and eye on the new service and see if there are any details around applying for a passport at the same time. If not I guess I'll just have to apply separately.
