Naturalisation and electronic supporting documents

Post by AnotherUUID » Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:04 pm

Dear All,

Apologies if this has been answered before, I personally could not find a case like this.

I have recently submitted my (online) application for naturalisation through the EEA route based on 5+1 years of residency (though I have been a permanent resident since 2014) and am about to post the supporting documents.

The EEA route requires proof of lawful residence over the past 5 years. From what I have read, most people have used P60s and/or payslips to prove this. However, virtually all of my payslips and P60s were online based. From what I understand based on Guide AN, HO may not accept printed copies of online versions, even though the information on them is virtually identical.

One slight issue is that the online payslips I have show all the wage and tax details but not my address. My address is, however, present on the eP60s. Does anyone think this could be a problem?

I have also had change of circumstances where I quit my job and enrolled as a PhD student in 2016. I have my scholarship payslips, half of which are original paper based ones, and the other half printouts of online versions as the University moved to an online based payroll system. These ones, however, do show my address.

According to the list of accepted documents, official letters from university and private companies are accepted. I have managed to obtain a letter from my University confirming my enrolment from September 2016 till present, attesting no recorded leave of absences from my research. However, I am still waiting for my previous employer to provide me with such a letter as a backup.

I am planning of explaining the above in a covering letter, in the hopes that it will suffice. I also have all of my tenancy agreements (though some are copies) for the past 5y, though these are not listed as acceptable evidence of residency.

So the few questions I have are:
  • Has anyone had experience with using eP60s and ePayslips for naturalisation? Were they accepted?
  • Would it be a problem if some of the (online printout) payslips do not show my address?
  • Is it a good idea to just post the whole stack of papers including tenancy agreements and hope for the best?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

So the few questions I have are:
Has anyone had experience with using eP60s and ePayslips for naturalisation? Were they accepted? sorry no experience but don't see why not, explain in your cover letter. Just use the P60s, not payslips. Ideally letter(s) from employer(s) would be easier especially if they cover more than one year.
Would it be a problem if some of the (online printout) payslips do not show my address? No, the NI and PAYE reference numbers are unique identifiers.
Is it a good idea to just post the whole stack of papers including tenancy agreements and hope for the best? Only submit what is required. Tenancy agreement or bank statements not required.
