Citizenship by Descent?

I've been trying to find a clear answer on the rules for citizenship through descent. I'm a US citizen (born in 1967), but both of my grandparents were born in Scotland - in 1904 and 1909 - and came to the US illegally through Canada. I have their birth certificates and the record of arrival in Canada. There are no records of naturalisation, although my grandfather served in the US Navy in WWII. Census records list them and my grandmother's family members as "illegal". My mother was born in the US in 1932. Would I qualify for citizenship by descent through my grandparents?
