Should I wait for the IDV app invitation?

Post by erggo » Mon Oct 24, 2022 5:52 pm

Hello,

I've just received my ILR BRP (Set(o) Tier 2 dependant route) today and I'm applying for naturalisation since my partner has been granted BC half a year ago.

When I paid for my application I only received an email with subject "UK visa application: payment confirmation - what to do next" that says:
If you have not already done so, you must return to your application to book and attend an appointment with our commercial partner to provide your documents and enrol your biometrics (fingerprints and facial photograph).
This email doesn't mention IDV app at all.

I've signed into my UKVCAS account and found out I can book an appointment.
Could it be I haven't received an email about IDV app eligibility assessment because I've already been registered with UKVCAS when I applied for settlement? The email I received when I registered UKVCAS account for the settlement application mentioned IDV app, but I booked an appointment instead.

I would prefer apply through the app, but not sure I'll ever hear anything from UKVI/UKVCAS

If you are eligible for using the app you will receive a separate email. If there are available appointments in your area, no harm in booking one now and cancelling it in case you are eligible for the app. It's worth noting that biometrics through the app are triggering error messages for a number of users.
