Naturalisation application withdrawal and resubmission

Post by SunnyDay2023 » Fri Apr 21, 2023 5:48 pm

Hi there,

I'm hoping to get some help with my situation, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I submitted my application three weeks ago and withdrew it yesterday, beginning by cancelling my biometrics appointment.

I have been in the UK for 15 years, I've built my home here, and I have EUSS. I've realized that holding EUSS grants me the same rights as holding British citizenship, except for the ability to vote. Additionally, I won't lose anything if I ever decided to leave the UK for a while since the clock restarts with each visit back to the UK within five years. However, after withdrawing my application, I started to regret it. The UK has become my home and a significant part of my identity.

If I decide to resubmit my application, can I do it immediately? Also, do I need to mention anywhere that I applied before, and if so, what details should I provide?

My second question is whether I can reuse the referee declarations signed in April 2023 without the need for the referees to sign them again.

Thanks in advance!

Yes.

No.

Yes, fine.

Thank you, CR001!

Would there be any delays in the process (having an withdrawn application and a new one at the same time)?

Thanks so much.

Sorry, I have a couple of more questions if you don't mind.

Would I need a new UKVCAS account? I seem to be able to book an appointment despite not submitting a new application. Will it be ok to book my appointment?

Under "Immigration details", there's the question "Have you made any previous UK immigration No
applications in the UK or abroad?" I said "no" before, but I believe I've seen somewhere that my EUSS would fall into this category. So should I mention it here again in addition to the section above specifically dedicated to EUSS?

I also have a trip where I flew into country 1, drove across the border into country 2 (a few hours), then spent 3 weeks in country 1, then flew via country 3 (one day) + took the ferry into the UK. I've only included the UK -> country 1 as that's where I've spent 99% of the time. Is it ok to leave it at that?

Thank you

Anyhow you go, it's not a deal breaker. The HO aren't that petty.

Thank you
