Hi Gurus, Experts,

I sent my passport along with marriage certificate and my sons birth certificate to register him as British Citizen (MN1). His application was successful and he got his british passport. However the supporting documents including my passport is lost (not confirmed, as intially they thought the posted me, then they said they are cheking there file data base) by UKBA some where. It is now 2 months time that i am constant contact with them, but the whereabout of documents are not known. Can please gurus through some light on this situation to put my mind in peace? To complicate the matter, i have booked the tickets to travel in couple of month time.

Only UKBA can tell you whether they have your documents in their possession (still) or whether they have been lost.

If they are indeed lost you may be entitled to some financial compensation which UKBA should advise you about (if entitled to compensation). In absence of your (existing) passport, for you to travel abroad you'll either need a new passport or an emergency travel document issued by the embassy of the country of your citizenship.
