Naturalisation, when is the qualifying date?

Post by jko » Tue Jul 26, 2011 1:15 pm

hi everyone, I was granted ILR in September, 2009 based on 14yrs long residence after three years (application submitted in August, 2006). My wife is british. When can I apply for naturalisation as a british citizen? All response would be appreciated.

Thanks Vinny for your quick response to my query. I thought I have to wait for 3yrs which should be next year September,2012 as I was an overstayer in breach of immigration rules before I submitted my application in August, 2006. And the Home office rule stated that you should not be in breach of immigration rules at any stage during the three years qualifying period.
