MN1 Application for UK born baby while baby is abroad

Post by ajmalR » Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:40 am

hi guys,

i'd be really grateful if anyone could help me answer a couple of questions regarding the MN1 application for my 20 months old son please. here is my situation:
-my son was born in June 2010
-i was granted ILR in Nov 2011

i was told my son is entitled to be registered as a british citizen using the form MN1. we went on holiday in december abroad and while i'll be coming back to the UK in a couple of days, my wife and son will be staying abroad for a while longer.

the questions that i have are whether i can apply using the form MN1 when i'm back in the UK? or do i have to do it in the country my son is on holiday in?

if i can do it in the UK, do i need to send his current passport with the application? if so, can i send his passport even though he'll be in another country?

thanking you in advance for your help.

kind regards,

vinny

Your son should apply in the country where he is located.
