Applying for BC

Hi,
I have got my settlement 5 months ago and planning to apply BC in next year. My son born in the UK before my settlement and my questions are
1. Do I need to register my son as a British citizen or Child? Or can I get him BC straighaway filling AN form?(My son also got settlement visa at the moment)
2. Regards to applying BC for my self and my wife, do we require any pre registration, or can we straightaway fill AN?
