Form AN wrote: One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, eg minister of religion, civil servant, or a member of a professional body e.g. accountant or solicitor (who is not representing you with this application). The other referee must normally be the holder of a British citizen passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25
So if he is not British, no need for a British passport number.

He can write instead "available upon request". It is accpetable by the HO.

hi

I am looking for referees for my 6 weeks old daughter.

When asked the GP for doctor reference, I was told I (parent) must be registered there for atleast 3 years for a doctor to sign as reference :(, I am not, also not so with my previous GPs.

Anyone faced this situation? Any suggestions?

Meanwhile I will try to reach her health visitor.

Thanks
Kiru

I couldnt get hold of health visitor as she is on vacation. If getting reference is going to be a problem, then I have to apply PR dependent for time being I guess. Though it is a long route, if I need to take her abroad I got no choice :(
Anyways if any one faced similar issue as in my previous post, please do advise how you resolved.

Tx.

See Q1: I can’t find a professional referee to support my child application. What should I do? in Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - Children.

Thanks Jambo, and yes I did read that before posting as well. It says
Q1: I can’t find a professional referee to support my child application. What should I do?

Try the GP or health visitor.
I tried the GP and they wanted me to be registered atleast 3 yrs.
If applying under section 1(3) (child born in the UK), and you can't find a referee who knows the child in a professional capacity, just get any professional to sign. The HO are less strict on the referees especially if the child is young.
Does it means 'both' the referrals? Eg: A solicitor and my british colleague.
My child is 1.5 months old, but still has the HO accepted such references?

Well, only one of the referees needs to be professionally engaged with the child. The second one just needs to be British (and over 25).

A solicitor would be fine.

People got an approval for applications under 1(3) even with no referees at all.
