when to apply for BC - doubt

"You must have been living in the UK exactly six years before the date the application reaches the Home Office"
Is this correct? I thought I need to be in the UK for 5 years.
I came here on WP on 28-july-2006
got ILR on 15-july-2011
Can I apply for Naturalization on 15-july-2012 ? or do I need to wait till 28-july-2012 (5+1 = 6 years)?
Kindly reply so that I can make my application asap.
