When to apply for Naturalisation??

Hi,
I hope someone can give me some advice with regards to applying for naturalisation in the UK.
I received ILR on 4 October 2011. So I was wondering if it would be possible to apply for naturalisation on or after the 4 October 2012.
I was going to use the checking service provided by my local authority which would allow me to retain my travel documents etc
If I use the checking services and allow 5 working days to pass. Would I be able to travel after that. I have booked a trip in December for about a month to South Africa. Would it be advisable to travel or not?
Can I do the Life in the UK already?
I hope someone can help thanks on advance.

Hi I start with the life in the uk you said you had the ILR how come you don't have the Life in the uk? any way if you don't you can still apply for the life in the uk anytime.
you can apply for the naturalisation after the 4 October 2012 VIA NCS they will hand you back your passport and yes you can travel on december
Good luck

I have had indefinite leave to remain since 04 October 2011. I would like to do Life in the UK test as soon as possible. Once I pass the test hopefully before the 28 October 2013 will I be able to apply for citizenship?
What if I apply for citizenship a week before the 28 October, would I need to do the new language test?
How long after the Life in the UK test can I apply for citizenship?
I hope someone can help....

Why not? Were you under 18?
It's helpful to know the basis of your exemption as it may still apply.

4th visa - permanent residence card current visa
Apologies just had a look in my passport I thought I had indefinite leave to remain but its a permanent residence card

Yes, PR doesn't require the KOLL as opposed to ILR that's why you haven't done it.
Read the LIUK book, sit the test and then apply straight away via the NCS, subject to meeting the other requirements, including being physically present in the UK 3/5 years prior to the Home Office receiving your application.

So if I do the LIUK test and then apply lets say a week before 28 October 2013 I would not be required to do the english language test?
Thanks a lot for the advice!!!!
