General question on naturalization

Current circumstance:

Currently I'm on ILR and Now Am elgible to apply for Naturalization/Citizenship. I will be getting married in 1st week of Jan 2013 and then after wanted to apply for dependnt visa for my wife some time in January 2013.

Now my query:

Assuming that -
As per the standards the normal processing time for Citizenship is around 3 months (minimum) and So possibly I may get an approval letter by December 2012.
I must travel to India by 20th December. So I do not want to attend the ceremony immediately but surely will take up in 90 days.

At this point I will only have an APPROVAL letter of naturalization without Ceremony - In order to make an application for Wife's dependent VISA - on what grounds I need to provide/submit - i.e.
1. Will it be ILR dependent
or
2. Do I need to complete my Citizenship ceremony, British passport and then apply for dependent VISA?

I believe still I will be an ILR holder and have submit wife's based on ILR as I might have only Approval letter but not Naturalization certificate.

I'm bit confused in taking decision - Please advise what is the best way to go ahead.

You are not British until you attend the ceremony.

In practice, British citizen spouse or ILR holder spouse is the same visa so it's just a matter of which nationality to write on the application form and which evidence to produce.
