Hi,

I am qualified for BC as I am here for more then 5 years with ILR 1 year. My wife is here since November 2008. She is on ILR since one year. Can she also apply with me for the BC?

Yes following line pretty much answers my question...
"If one applicant meets the 5 years residence requirement but the spouse doesn’t, then once the applicant is granted BC (after the citizenship ceremony), the spouse becomes a spouse of BC and can apply for naturalisation under the 3 years residence requirements."

Just want to make sure if my wife is eligible to apply but it looks like she isnt for now . I made a terrible mistake reading the guideline so I just wanted to confirm my fear...

You apply first as you are eligible and then from the minute you'll get the Btitish Certificate after a ceremony your wife will be eligible to apply under 3 years rules as a spouce of BC.

Yes thats what I have to do.

I know I dont have any say in this but it seems completely illogical that I can not send the application together. For crying out loud "IF" I get naturalisation then process my wife's application otherwise dont. Is that so difficult to implement. Instead I have to spend £300 extra and wait for another 6 months for this to finish...

This is possible but would be at discretion. The last report was from June and his wife application was refused.
