Naturalisation application for wife

Hello everyone,

I have a query regarding the naturalization application for my wife and will highly appreciate if someone can help please. I am British Citizen (got it in 2005) and my wife got ILR in March 2009. I am now planning to apply for her naturalization as my dependent and thinking of following documents.

* Completed Form AN
* Life in UK test
* Her passport
* My passport and marriage certificate

Are these enough documents or do I need to add anything further to this list? Plus she is a house wife so do we have to worry about tax returns?

Finally I would like to use NCS to verify the documents so we don't have to send originals. Does anyone have experience of how busy NCS are these days? I would imagine the appointment should be fairly easily available.

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Regards,
hs159.

You can't apply on her behalf. She needs to apply by herself. With ILR she is not dependant on you anymore but can apply as a spouse of BC. The list of documents seem to be correct. With regards to NCS, then that would depend which one you use, I suggest you check the local council website or just phone them.

Thanks Jambo. Yes I know I can't reply on her behalf but I will be filling documents on her behalf and she could sign it ;-)

Any comments on tax return?

Thanks,
Hassan.

Housewives (normally) don't need to fill in a tax return. If there is no need for one, surely you can't provide details of one. It's not a requirement to have tax return. Just leave those sections empty if not relevant.
