Will I get an approval letter from home office directly?

HI, I have made the citizenship application (MN1) for my son and myself last November, and received the receipt of acknowledgement a few days later. Today I got a letter from my local council asking me to arrange for the citizenship ceremony. They say the home office told them our applications had been approved, and ask me to provide the poll number on my formal home office approval letter to arrange the ceremony. However, we never received any approval letter from home office.

Am I supposed to get the approval letter before the local council? My concern is the letter may be messed up during holiday season. Does anybody know a way contact UKBA if your application is made within 6 month? Thanks

That's the only letter you need. Phone your council and they will book you for the ceremony. Congratulations !
