Hi
When applying for citizenship on spouse visa, does the applicant have to submit their passport with the application?
Is this then held for the whole time of the consideration?
Does the spouse also need to submit theirs?
Thanks

Assuming that you are applying for citizenship AFTER getting ILR and not directly from spouse visa?
If you use NCS to submit, they will take copies of BOTH passports and all documents and return originals to you.
If you simple post your application, original passports and documents have to be sent and if you need the passports back, you have to write to them requesting them.

No, if you plan to apply via NCS. They will take copies of your passport and your spouse's documents and return them back to you.
