Hi,

I got ILR on 28th Dec 2012.
I can apply for naturalisation on 28th Dec 2013 i.e. after 1 year.
And I should be present in country 5 years back that is 29th Dec 2008

Tricky bit is...

- 28th dec 2013 is saturday.
- I travelled on 29th dec 2008 - 4th Feb 2009, so the day I flew out is 29th dec 2008. will it be considered as absence?
- Is there any way I can apply on 28th dec 2013? would it be valid.
- The reason I can't wait is that I work for an international firm and I will get transfered at some point between oct - dec 2013. So I want to apply as soon as I'm eligible. Otherwise I would have to wait till 5th feb and I worry I might exceed 90 days absence allowed in last 12 months.
Any suggestions ?

I hope you are aware that date of application for a naturalisation application = date on which the application is received by UKBA and not when it was sent.
28th Dec 2013 being a saturday, it's unlikely the application will be received on that day, so the safe option is to wait until 5th Feb and plan your absences / leaves accordingly from now on.

Thanks for the suggestion and I agree that safest option is 5th Feb 2014. But I have heard (not sure how correct it is) that it doesnt matter if my eligibility day falls over a weekend so I'm open to suggestions if there is any kind of discretion that applies here, I would like to know.

I am agree with bans" . Safe side is better than refusal and waisting money. UKBA said mostly refusal of BC application is due to absence of the applicants. Because they were not present on the day when UKBA receive application .

If application is made at ncs on Friday morning then will UKBA receive application on Saturday or Monday?
