Ceremony arrangements

Hi All,

I received the approval for the application of British citizenship today in the mail. The letter is dated 5 days ago. It states to contact the Local Authority within 21 days.

1. Does that mean that I am to arrange for AND attend AND complete the ceremony within 21 days? Must the ceremony take place within the 21 days window? Or does this mean that its ok as long as I contacted the local authority within those 21 days?
2. When does the 21 days start is it today or it started 5 days ago inline with the date on the letter?
3. What's the difference between the "oath" and "affirmation" of alleigance? And which should I go for?

Thanks

3. What's the difference between the "oath" and "affirmation" of alleigance? And which should I go for? - one is religious (God) the other one is not and which one you go for is your choice, there is not right or wrong it is a personal preference

Thanks
