Hi all,
I would appreciate if someone can provide me some insights. I am trying to document all the evidences I could gather to prove my 5 years residence requirement in the UK.
I am currently a BNO holder registering to be British citizen after I obtain my ILR for a year.
I had almost all trips stamped on the passport when I returned back to the UK but not when I departed the UK. So do I need to provide additional evidence to prove how long I have been away?

Within last 5 years, I have held 3 different visa, international graduate, youth mobility scheme and now on a partner visa under the UK route.

I have checked I will satisfy most requirements but I am uncertain what I have to provide evidences for my residence requirement.
If I have only my entry to the UK stamped, do I still need to provide any other evidences like employment, governmental, educational documents to show that I am residing in the UK continuously?

My biggest concern is, I am a contractor and have quite some gaps between employment. Except my passport, I do not know how to show I am in the UK continuously.
Would my passport suffice to prove my residence requirement?

The UK doesn't stamp the passport when exiting the country. There is no need to provide any additional evidence of residence other than passport(s) (if your passports cover the 5 years).

List the absences in the form but you don't need to provide additional evidence (the HO have ways to verify the details if they wish to).

I found out the stamp of the most essential entry date (5 years before I apply) has not been stamped as it was when volcanic ash happened and the flight was diverted to Germany. I was then taken back to the UK by coach through France and they usually dont stamp my British National Overseas passport.
However, I have got a letter from airline explaining this. Would this suffice?
Any other documents I need to supply?
I might be able to provide some wage slip but it won't be able to cover the whole period as I have some gaps between contracts.

In any case, don't try to complicate things. Apply using your passport. If the HO would need more evidence they will write to you and ask for it. They will not refuse the application because of a missing stamp.

I just want to clarify why this stamp might be essential and would like to seek your further insight.
Basically when the volcanic ash happened, I was issued a new visa Youth Mobility Scheme which has never been stamped before.
I am aiming to apply for the citizenship in 2015 after I obtain my ILR next year in 2014.
between 2009-2010, I was holding international graduate scheme and on Mar 2010, I flew back home to apply Youth Mobility Scheme but when I flew back in April 2010, they did not get to stamp my NEW visa as I was taken back through French border by coach instead of thru the airport.

As there is no stamp on my visa, someone stamped the youth mobility scheme in my another travel in September 2010. I want to apply citizenship straight away (early 2015) after obtaining the ILR for a year.

Do you have any further comments in this case?

I don't see this as a issue. If you wish, you can explain what happened in the form (on page 13).
