Absence during the last 12 months

I've been absent for 128 days in the last 12 months due to illness in the family and went back to my home country to visit family members.
I meet the residence requirements (less than 270 days absence in the last 3 years), I don't own a home or have children but I've been working and living with my wife in the UK for the past 12 years.
How do I ask for discretion on compassionate reasons or prove I've made the UK my home or estate?

Thank you.

You have to show you have demonstrated a link with the UK by establishing your home, family and a large part of your estate here. Providing most of your money is in the UK and the fact that you've been married 12 years in the UK and that you were away due to family illness should mean you'll get the discretion. As it's discretion it's never guaranteed. Make a detailed submission with your application detailing everything that shows you have links to uk I.e. marriage and chattels in the uk. Put some proof regarding family illness I.e. dr letter.
