Dear All,
Moving from ILR forum to BC, because of the valuable support from this forum, I have recently got my ILR.
Next Step - Need to get BC for my Son who is born in UK.
History - WP (2Years) + Tier 2 (ICT)(3Years) + ILR (1 week)
Son born in UK - Oct 2011 - Currently having leave to remain till April 2014.
I searched for any posts which gives a step by step process of applying BC for UK born Child, couldn't find any (may be looking with wrong key word), Please can someone suggest the steps or point me to the correct topic, this will be of great help.
Regards,
Keerthi

Thank You Vinny.
One more clarification please...
For child to be registered as BC, should both the parents have received ILR?
My case is that I have ILR, My wife has appointment only in May, can I apply BC for my child only based on my ILR?
Please help.
Regards,
Keerthi

A parent with ILR is sufficient.

Hi Vinny,
Another question in extension to the above reply:
Me and my dependents (wife + child born in UK) recently got our ILR. We would like to apply for our kid's BC now - and apply for ours after 1 year period.
I hope this is OK, and on basis of that have few queries:
1. Can I change child's forename before applying for MN1? This is given that
- the child was born in UK before ILR was granted
- birth certificate issued in UK on old name
- Indian passport issued on old name
2. if the answer to Q1 is though deed poll - can you advise me what should I write in 1.6, 1.7 & 1.8? Also should Referees & identity section be filled using old or new name?
3. My kid and wife took a long break (146 days) outside UK. Is this absence going to cause any issues with my Kid's application?
Appreciate any help in this regard.

1. See also
Change of name.
2. After a change of name, everyone should probably use the new name.
3. Absences are not relevant.
