Hi All,

I've been trying to find out where on UKBA website is written you must hold PR for atleast one year prior to applying british citizenship.

can any budy give me link for this pls ?

I was on HSMP/Tier 1 from june 2007 - June 2012 and i have got my PR in March 2013.

One consultant told me that you can apply BC in july 2013 ? is this correct ?
pls advise.

here on page 5 of booklet it says

4. You must be free of immigration time restrictions on the date of application, and
have been free of immigration time restrictions for the twelve month period before
making the application (see the section on Immigration Time Restrictions).

this is the relevant piece of bit i have found

free of immigration time restrictions on the date of application, and
have been free of immigration time restrictions for the twelve month period before making the application

The key is in the above - free from immigration control (ILR/PR) and for 12 months before BC application.

You must have settled status (ILR/PR) for 12 months prior to the application unless you are married/civil p of a British Citizen as well as meeting the other requirements.
