Hi all

I recently was granted ILR my query

I came to UK on Marriage Visa in Sept 2010 enter UK Oct 2010
went back to India got Spouse Visa March 2011 enter UK May 2011
Got ILR in April 2013

I had several Absents from UK for Business purpose during my two year stay

My question is

When can I apply for BC do I have to wait for one year from from date of grant of ILR or one year from grant of Marriage Visa or actual wedding date ?

While applying for BC this absentees will count against my application

1. If married/civil p to a bc you must have been legally resident in the UK for 3 years - e.g. had leave to remain the whole time, for absences see http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... ofcitizen/

2. You must have been physically present in the UK exactly 3 years from the date in which the HO receive your application

3. You must be settled (have ILR/ILE/PR) though not for 12 months if a spouse/civil p of a bc

4. you must meet the other standard requirements as per http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... ofcitizen/
