Applying for citizenship with HSMP JR

Hi all,
We are one of few people who did not apply for an extension of stay under the HSMP arrangements in place after 5 December 2006 and left the UK.
We arrived in Mar-06, than left the country in Feb-07, spent around 33 months outside the UK and came back in Nov-09 under Tier 1 HSMP JR category. We've got our ILR in July-11 and they counted the time spent outside towards the qualifying period for settlement as they promised in HSMP JR policy document.
But now I'm not sure they will count this time towards the 5 years period of being present in the UK. At the moment we have 3 years and 5 months of continuous period plus 11 months of our first stay in country and 33 months outside.
Any thoughts about when is the best time to apply for us?
Will appreciate any advise.
Thanks.

Unfortunately you will need to wait until you complete 5 years. For naturalisation, they will not count the 33 months outside.

See Application for naturalization (after getting ILR under HSMP which includes a link to the HO position on this issue.

Thank you very much! This was very helpful, but demoralising. )))
